Found out iPad/iPhone native Twitter app will not shorten pre-shrunk links automatically (used http://dthin.gs/pGcMj3). I made sure to type in the http:// in case that signaled to maintain the link on the app.

I don’t think that’s the case. My 17-character custom shortened and “branded” url is being shortened by Twitter. And, in fact, they “shortened” it from 17 to 19 characters. Gee, thanks. Its driving me nuts.
