I’ve been in the process of ordering some new business cards because my old ones are running out. While Moo makes it really easy and nice to order some beautiful cards, whether you design them yourself or use their templates, I wasn’t perfectly happy with their old cards because the coating had a tendency to come off if I didn’t keep them very well.

Today I saw that they had an announcement of a new card stock “Luxe” which aims to be a more premium stock, which I thought I may well try. All said and done, the order has been placed and should be here in a little over a week.

The stock looks very nice in their promo video so it is going to be interesting to see how it compares to the old stock and if there are more luxurious (which is what I’m after).

These interest-sparking intro screens are a very good way of promoting your unreleased product or website and gathering a user base even before you have the final release product available.

CSS Gradient Editor

CSS Gradients are awesome in that you don’t have to generate a graphic to use. They are however also a pain to write in code and requires a lot of it in order to work in most browsers.

I’ve found this little neat site called the Ultimate CSS Gradient Generator by Colorzilla. It will help you generate the code for your desired gradient but what is better is that it does it from the familiar Photoshop gradient editor interface. No, this is not a plugin for Photoshop but it emulates its interface on the web to generate code.

Do you have another favorite CSS Gradient generator? Let me know in the comments!

Energy Core Spectrum Wallpaper

I’ve been playing around a lot lately with wallpaper effects and especially color spectrum effects, mainly because I think the color spectrum is very pleasing to the eye and makes for some very cool effects. I am also very fascinated by the patterns and effects that you get by experimenting in real-life with a spectrum. Plus, these effects make for very good Photoshop tutorials.

The wallpaper above is available for free download (just click on it to get the full resolution). If you would rather take a stab at doing it yourself, I’ll have a video tutorial online over at Bernskiold Learning on Monday to show you just how to pull it off!
